Poor fishies

I've recently been feeding my 2 pet goldfish (Captain Morgan and Lili-pad ) blood worms as a treat instead of the ol' boring pellet feed. Also cause I potentially wanted to see if I could breed them both . yes... blood worms make gold fishes very "horny". This is based on my experience with goldfishes in the past (haha like when I was about 10) . I know.. even at that young age I was already curious about the flowers and the bees but in fishies.

Yesterday , I found white lil bumps on both of them. I panicked a bit, cause I do know feeding blood worms can somewhat introduce parasites into the aquarium. At first I thought it was just the common "itch" , but as I looked closely it was only on their gill covers. It doesn't seem to have spread or anything.

So, I did what most people will do. And GOOGLED it! lol. Turns out it wasn't itch, but breeding stars most commonly shown in male goldfishies when they're about 2 years old and ready to breed. Thats when I found out the hard way... my fishies are both MALE! oh well .. poor Lili-pad haha. He's stuck with a girls name.

So the fishies are a lil frisky at the mo. Poor things , guess I'll start feeding them regular pellet food again. haha
